Hagar komt op bezoek bij haar vader, die in een verpleeghuis in Jeruzalem woont. Omdat ze niet met zijn toestand om kan gaan, kijkt ze hem aan en wendt zich af, maar een reeks incidenten dwingt haar de dag in het gebouw door te brengen. Eerst een ongelukje waardoor ze zich moet omkleden, dan een oude vrouw die met haar rolstoel in de gang blijft hangen en dan de hoofdzuster die denkt dat Hagar een Russische conciërge is. Ze gaat helemaal op in het werk en wordt langzaam onderdeel van de staf. Het korte bezoek verandert in een reis tussen de smalle gangen van de samenleving.
