Biography

Karnataka State Award-winner, Srikanth Gowda, one of the most prominent movie editors of India has worked in multiple film industries. Srikanth has contributed to Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and English language films. In 1996, Srikanth started working as an office boy with Visonworld, Bangalore and later went on to work with Balaji Telefilms. While he was associated with Balaji Telefilms, Srikanth worked on several popular TV shows such as Kumkuma Bhagya and Maneyodhu Morru Bhagilu. It was in 2003 that he turned a producer: started his own studio - Srikanth Studios and produced the TV show Katakateya Kathegalu - aired on the Zee Kannada Network. In 2007, he worked on the movie Auto and has since then been associated with several successful Kannada movies. It was in 2014 that he won the Best Editor Award by the State Government of Karnataka for his outstanding work on the movie Ugramm. In 2017, he also produced the Tulu movie Madipu, which won the Best Feature Film in Tulu at the 64th National Film Awards and the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Regional Film. His other releases of 2017 as an editor include Manasu Malligey, BB5, and Silicon City. His 2015 Kannada movie Rathavara was re-released in 2017 in Telugu as Rathaavaram. In 2018, he edited Sunil Bhimrao`s Kannada comedy drama Onthara Bannagalu, starring Kiran Srinivas and Sonu Gowda in lead roles and KGF. His 2020 release includes India Vs England, directed by Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar.
