Nach einer Zombie-Apokalypse ist beinahe die gesamte Menschheit ausgelöscht. Ben und Mickey sind zwei der wenigen, die überlebt haben. Beide waren vor dem Untergang Baseballspieler, doch so richtig gut angefreundet haben sie sich nie. Vorsichtig und strikte Regeln befolgend schlagen sie sich durch ein zerstörtes und verlassenes Land. Überraschende Zombie-Attacken sind dabei schon an der Tagesordnung und auch mit den Eigenarten des jeweils anderen müssen sie erstmal umzugehen lernen. Verzweifelt suchen die beiden nach Überbleibseln vergangener Tage und dem Kontakt zu anderen Überlebenden. Während Mickey sich mit seinen Kopfhörern und einer romantischen Ader ausgestattet in eine bessere Welt träumt, findet Ben sich langsam mit dem harten Alltag ab. Als die beiden tatsächlich auf eine kleine Gruppe Überlebender treffen, geraten die Dinge nur noch weiter außer Kontrolle…
